A hand holds a stack of white note cards with a large blue “THANK” and script “you” on a pink surface.

We’ve all had that “I really need to send a thank-you card” thought. Maybe you’re thinking of the neighbor who brought over dinner, the friend who showed up when you needed an extra pair of hands, or the coworker who made a stressful day a little easier. That’s where a stack of simple thank-you cards can come in handy, making it easier to turn that “I should send a card” thought into action.

Make a Simple Thank-You Card in Four Steps

With just Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes, a stamp, and ink, you have everything you need to make a card in about a minute.

Watch our Back to Basics video for a walkthrough, then follow the steps below to make your own.

1. Choose your stamp and ink.

Use a larger sentiment for your card front, then pick an ink color you love.

Hands press a clear “THANK you” stamp on an acrylic block onto an ink pad beside an open white note card.

2. Ink your stamp.

Gently tap the stamp on the ink pad three times so the image is evenly covered.

Hands position a blue-inked “THANK you” stamp on a clear acrylic block over a white note card beside an ink pad.

3. Stamp your card.

Press the stamp firmly onto the front of the note card, then lift it straight up for a clean image.

Hands use a bone folder to crease a folded white thank-you card with blue stamping on a pink surface.

4. Fold and finish.

Fold along the scored line, write your message inside, and tuck the thank-you card into the coordinating envelope.

Two hands display a stack of white cards with bold blue “THANK” and script “you” sentiments against a pink background.

That’s really all it takes.

Customize Your Thank-You Notes

Simple doesn’t mean every thank-you note has to look the same. Maybe your friend loves green. Maybe your sister always goes for the brightest color in the room. Or maybe there’s a sentiment that sounds exactly like something you’d say. Choosing your card’s color and words with the recipient in mind is an easy way to make personalized thank-you notes that feel like they were made just for them.

Want to Take Your Thank-You Cards to the Next Level?

Ready to try something beyond the basics? Try adding Designer Series Paper to your thank-you card. This patterned paper gives a simple card an instant lift without adding much to your to-do list. Use a piece as your background, tuck a strip behind your sentiment, pair it with coordinating cardstock for a little more color, or add a simple die-cut shape if you want to take it one step further. Start Making Thank-You Cards Now

Sometimes the only thing standing between “I should send a card” and actually sending one is having a card already made.

Make a few cards now and save them for the next time someone gives you a reason to say thank you. Then all you need to do is add your personal note and send it on its way.
